Major cities in India<\/strong>,\nsuch as Bangalore<\/strong> and Hyderabad<\/strong> are experiencing a sudden 70%<\/strong> rise in the cellular data usage\nduring the lockdown, said TAIPA<\/strong>, aka\nTower and Infrastructure Providers\nAssociation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In New Delhi<\/strong>, the\ndata usage has increased by 30%<\/strong> as\nthe companies allowed their workers to work remotely during the events of\nCoronavirus. Now due to the sudden rise in data consumption, states are in\nurgent need to match the policies with the Right of Way rule of Centre. The\nTAIPA announced it all on Tuesday 31st<\/sup>\nMarch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the metros like Bangalore<\/strong>\nand Hyderabad<\/strong> are already facing\ndata consumption issues like the usage of the mobile network data has been\nraised by 70%.<\/strong> This is all happening\ndue to most of the people are at their homes during the nation-wide lockdown.\nGenerally, when people stay at home, they are likely to use the internet more\noften, and most people are also doing work from their homes. This increases the\namount of data usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the higher usage of mobile data has affected the overall\nservice and increased the load. The Novel\nCoronavirus<\/strong> has forced people to remain at home, and it is now globally\nincreasing network usage. Even in Delhi, government and private organizations\nhave permitted the workers to stay home and supported social distancing. By\ncreating social distancing, we can counter the spread of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delhi<\/strong> mobile\nnetwork data usage is increased with 30%,<\/strong>\nand it is still budding. While the ongoing pandemic is largely affecting the\ninternet providing world, TAIPA told the telecom secretary as well as the\nstates\u2019 chief secretaries regarding the sudden rise in usage and its solution.\nIn the statement of TAIPA, they said that telecom and data connectivity is\nvital or some necessary services and programs during the lockdown to stay\nconnected and carry on the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company wrote that the importance of the telecom\nservices is greatest during these days as most companies have announced Work\nremotely from home, schools, and universities are closed and using e-learning\nto carry on the education of their students. In case if anything gets wrong\nwith internet connectivity, then people won\u2019t be able to join the work and\ncontinue the education via e-learning.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that the nation-wide lockdown is going on, the users are\nsurprisingly adopting the digital services, e-commerce, OTT platforms, and\ngovernance. Due to the sudden surge in usage of cellular internet, the overall\nmobile internet consumption has risen by 30%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To manage the network surge, the cellular data providing\ncompanies will need to increase the service via upgrading the current\ninfrastructure of the telecom towers and other essential network components\nneeded to boost the network performance.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently TAIPA said, cellular companies need to retain the\ndata and other functioning of the telecom services smooth during this\ntime.  They need to increase the\nperformance of the current service by adding new or upgrading current\ninfrastructure and resources.
